|Are you’re a registered Cub Scout, Boy Scout or Venturer in the Greater Alabama Council or another nearby council, come join us for a weekend of fun, fellowship, demonstrations, and even Indian dance lessons! Boy Scout troops Cub Scout Packs & Crews are invited to camp with us on Friday and Saturday nights. We also welcome day visitors on Saturday. They’ll be opportunities to learn more about the Order of the Arrow and its rich American Indian heritage, including making a piece of your own handmade Indian regalia.
There will also be presentations throughout the day, skill demonstrations, booths, exhibits, and displays setup on the Parade Field. There will be information on the upcoming council and national events such as Greater Alabama Council treks to BSA High Adventure Bases, upcoming Coosa Lodge events, Cub Scout Events and more! There will also be Cub Scout Adventures being offered along with some of the more unusual merit badges, such as Weather and Welding. Space on the Adventures is unlimited if you preregister, but onsite registration will be limited to a first come first serve basis for any addition slots. Space in the merit badge classes is limited for both preregistration and on-site registration due to instructor availability.
Saturday’s program will culminate with an exciting American Indian powwow.
This powwow will celebrate and pay tribute to our American Indian heritage, featuring talented drummers, singers, and dancers from across the southeast as they wear regalia based on authentic Iroquois and Plains Indian designs and perform traditional dance styles such as grass, fancy, and traditional.
As stars fill the sky over Camp Comer, join us in the Flatt Rock Council Ring for our closing show, produced by our nationally recognized media group, Coosa Shows. Webelos will have a special opportunity to participate in unique Crossover ceremony performed by teams from Coosa Lodge.
After the closing show, join us for an ice cream social, patch trading, and MOVIES!
Did we mention there’s a patch? Everyone will receive a Coosa Lodge Order of the Arrow event patch just for attending. This year the patch is a very special one that is a memorial to our recently passed Brother, Zac Brewer.
