Catholic Scouting Chairman
 
Bishop Robert Baker has appointed Mr. David Schwaiger of Sacred Heart Church, Cullman as Chairman of the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting. In his new position, Mr. Schwaiger will lead a committee of adults who give oversight to Catholic Scouting for girls and boys in the Diocese of Birmingham. Among other functions, the committee facilitates the various Catholic Scout awards for boys and girls, the annual Bishop’s Scout Honors Mass, and Catholic Scout retreats. The Catholic Committee on Scouting is a component of the Office for Youth of the Diocese.
Mr. Schwaiger is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of Order of the Arrow. He is a former Scoutmaster and is deeply involved as a volunteer at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
