Boy Scout NASCAR Foundation

You are invited to join The NASCAR Foundation’s fundraising efforts at Talladega Superspeedway during the Geico 500!  Please find below important details regarding this fundraising opportunity.  
First 50 Volunteers/Scouts for each day will be allow to participate.    
Booth Hours: The NASCAR Foundation booth hours are the following:
  • Saturday, May 6th 2017, 8:00AM-11:30AM (NXS Race @Noon)
  • Sunday, May 7th 2017,8:00AM – 12:30PM (MENCS race @ 1:00PM
*Longer days can be broken into shifts*
Charity Requirements:
Must be in Class A uniform. Volunteers should be willing to ask for donations, engage race fans, and interact with guests.
Fundraising Instructions:
Parking: Track map will be emailed for parking options. General Parking is located in Lot 1. Please allow time to park.  
Attire:  Class A uniform (comfortable shoes, dress for the weather)
Refreshments: The NASCAR Foundation will provide bottled water and a $10 food voucher for fundraisers. Remember to bring extra money for meals and additional snacks in the vendor area.
Fundraisers Duties:
You will be asking fans in the vendor display area if they would like to make a $5 donation to The NASCAR Foundation in exchange for a NASCAR Foundation wrist band and collectors pin. (Tips on how to approach people and what to  say will be provided at check-in, as well as information about The NASCAR Foundation so you will be able to answer any general questions.)
You will be walking and standing outside for the duration of your fundraising assignment.
At the end of the weekend all of the proceeds from what you sold will be split with 50% going back to your local nonprofit organization (The Greater Alabama Council) and the other 50% benefitting  The NASCAR Foundation.  Money raised will by each unit/Scout will be deposited into a GAC council summer camp account.  ( Funds can only be used for the purpose of GAC Camping)
