|Talakto District Leaders,
My name is Shawn Wright, and I am the Scoutmaster for Wood Badge course S9-119, and I would like to invite you to attend the course in April 2019.
Wood Badge is the premier training event for adult Scouters. At Wood Badge you will learn techniques to help make you a better leader and how to lead groups to achieve objectives not only within Scouting but in your business and other ventures as well. It’s also a great way to network and meet some great people throughout the council.
The course will be held over two weekends in April 2019 at Camps Comer and Westmoreland. Both are three day weekends with the course starting on Friday morning at 8 am. I always like to point that out to people so there is no confusion. The dates are:
April 5-7 Weekend 1 at Camp Comer
April 26-28 Weekend 2 at Camp Westmoreland
Course S9-119 is going to be special. It is the 100th anniversary of the first Wood Badge course in England. This kind of event only comes around once in a lifetime so you won’t want to miss it. It is also the only course available in 2019.
If you would like to sign up for the course, registration is now open and you can access the form at https://form.jotform.com/22226052154947. Don’t wait too long to sign up, we cap the course at 48 participants and we expect the course to fill up.
If you haven’t been thinking about Wood Badge, I am sure you may have many questions. First, check out WoodBadgeAlabama.com for some basic information. We also have a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/woodbadgealabama/ where we will be posting info leading up to and during the course.
Of course, you can always contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 205-223-4415 if you have questions.
I hope this is enough to peak your interest to attend and I hope to talk to you soon.
