Youth Protection doesn’t just cover trips to camp, meetings, and other functions- it even extends into the internet and social media. With summer here, our youth may find themselves spending more and more time on social media, or engaged in online gaming, and they are vulnerable to harassment and bullying. The BSA has worked diligently with NetSmartz to create an online resource and training for parents, volunteers, and youth alike. The Cyber Chip is an award that youth can earn, and it will help the parent and volunteer create and foster open communication between youth and adults that will help keep our Scouts safe.
