Next month, March 12-14, we will be hosting our annual Spring Pow-Wow at the beautiful Camp Comer, atop Lookout Mountain. The time will be upon us soon that the trails and program areas of the camp will be filled with Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Venturers, and Arrowmen. Planning is well underway to prepare for a safe and fun event for everyone.
For Cubs we will have DIY Native American crafts, slingshots, and a 1 mile hike to the infamous Camp Comer Moon Rock. The hike to Moon Rock will be available for all, as well as Dance and Drum classes, Beading Classes, and a History of Coosa Lodge class, corn hole, horseback riding (with additional fees), and a Thunderbird Night Hike. For the older scouts we will also have tomahawk and knife throwing. During this weekend we will also be providing a flag raising and lowing, as well as a flag retirement on Saturday morning.
Parallel to this event, we will be hosting an Induction Event for scouts and scouters that are ordeal eligible. Register for the Induction Event Here.
To wind down the event on Saturday, our Coosa Drum and Dance members will put on a Pow-Wow. To close the night out, we will have a closing show, put on by Coosa Shows. Register today, for we have limited available spots. You won’t want to miss out on this event, we hope to see you there!
