The James T. Stephens Eagle Scout Scholarship Award The Greater Alabama Council announces that two (2) to four (4) Eagle Scout Scholarship Awards have been established by James T. Stephens. These awards are open to Eagle Scouts of the Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scouts of America. Thescholarships are for $3,000 yearly for up to four years of college. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria and adhere to the required process: Be an Eagle Scout of the Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scouts of America by February 1, 2022 Submit an original application and required documents to the Council Service Center in Liberty Park no later than February 1, 2022 (electronically submitted copies will not be accepted) Be a senior in high school Be attending college in the fall immediately following graduation from high school. Have taken the ACT or SAT exam The scholarships will be awarded to applicants demonstrating both merit and need. The $3,000 yearly is available for tuition and books. To maintain the scholarship for fouryears, scholastic performance must be appropriate. |
================================= The Charles Richard Byrd, Jr. Eagle Scout Scholarship Award The Greater Alabama Council announces that an Eagle Scout Scholarship Award has been established by the Charles Richard Byrd, Jr. family. This award is open to Eagle Scouts of the Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scouts of America. The scholarship is for $1,000 to an accredited 2-year or 4-year school, or Vocational School within the state of Alabama. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria and adhere to the required process: Be an Eagle Scout of the Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scouts of America by February 1, 2022. Submit a letter of request for the Charles Richard Byrd, Jr. Eagle Scout Scholarship with statement of need and required documents to the Council Service Center in Liberty Park by February 1, 2022. (electronically submitted copies will not be accepted) In your statement of need, please specify what in-state school you will be attending. Be a senior in high school with a 3.0 or better grade point average. Have taken the ACT or SAT exam. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an applicant demonstrating both merit and need and will be paid directly to the school student account by the Charles Richard Byrd, Jr. family. |
VFW Scout of the Year Award and Scholarship Opportunity Annually, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States recognizes individuals who are: Eagle Scouts, Girl Scout Gold Award recipients, Venture Summit Award recipients and/or Sea Scout Quartermasters who have risen above their peers in exemplifying the qualities of that rank.
