PURPOSE: ScoutReach Cultural Day Activities is a Boy Scouts of America Greater Alabama Council annual event that encourages all Scouts and Leaders to explore and better understand some of the differences and similarities of the many cultural heritages of our great nation. It allows for a demonstration of the many various cultural activities that abound around the world. It also affords the Scouts an opportunity to complete some Scouts BSA rank advancement requirements and merit badges. |
On-line registration needs to be completed no later than 5:00pm, Wednesday, February 22, 2023. |
Cultural Fair |
At 1 p.m. visit booths from different culture groups, win door prizes, and watch liveperformances! Currently, groups invited representing cultures are from the followingcountries: Australia – Panama – Philippines – Poland – Romania – Scotland –Thailand – Turkey – Vietnam. However, this list may change based on scheduleavailability. |
Merit Badges Offered: American Cultures Aviation Citizenship in Community Citizenship in Nation Citizenship in World Citizenship in Society Communications Crime Prevention by HPD Fingerprinting by HPD First Aid by HEMSI Emergency Preparedness by HFD AFTERNOON MERIT BADGES: Chess Law *Be sure to read the notes in the leader’s guide. Chess or Law should not be taken in the afternoon unless the Scout has already earned American Cultures. |
