Welcome New Talakto District Executive!

We are pleased to announce that Mark Humphrey will be joining the Greater Alabama Council as a District Executive for the Talakto District on February 16th, 2024.  Mark will be responsible for providing leadership in the areas of service to Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, and Exploring Posts. His responsibilities include support for our youth recruiting efforts and fundraising including Friends of Scouting, the Trail’s End Popcorn sale, and the Camp Card sale. One of his primary roles will be to lead the cultivation and recruitment of volunteers. Mark is under the leadership of Derrick Russaw, Field Director for the Northeast Service Area.
 
Mark received his M.B.A, Project and Construction Management from Golden Gate University and his B.S., Construction Engineering, from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.  A native of Ontario, California, he moved to the Greater Alabama area in the spring of 2019.  He recently retired from the U.S. Space and Rocket Center where he led capital improvements and facility maintenance.

In his free time, Mark enjoys serving in the youth programs in Church and volunteers with Scouting.  Mark has been married to his wife, Kim for 45 years and is the father to 2 Eagle Scouts, Curtis and Ben and daughter, Beth.  He is the grandfather to 7 with the oldest starting his Eagle project this summer. Mark also enjoys serving as an Assistant Training Chair and Lion Cub Den Leader for Pack 8 in the Talakto District.
