The Huntsville Soaring Association has released this year’s information regarding their scholarship toward individuals earning their “FAA Private Pilots License”. The scholarship is structured as a 50% cost sharing structure to reduce the burden and encourage individuals to pursue a career and/or hobby in aviation. You can find the official 2025 announcement letter here
While this is largely targeted at youth, if there are Certified Flight Instructors who are interested in transitioning an existing CFI rating to CFI-Gs and aiding with HSA’s ab initio flight instruction of student pilots, such an effort could be the subject of a scholarship award.
The scholarships for this year are only approximately eight in number, and the terms of the grant requires them to be split 50/50 between male and female candidates. HSA operates out of Moontown Airport (3M5) close to Huntsville, Alabama. HSA’s Mr. Charles Dutch will be the Point of Contact for this scholarship award effort, and his contact information can be found in the attached letter.
