Scout Day at the US Space and Rocket Center

September 10, 2022 – Join us for an exciting day of activities designed for scouts of all ages to work towards science-based badges. There will be a Pinewood Derby track on site for scouts to bring their cars and race. There will be an information table for visitors to learn more about local scouting opportunities. Leaders will be on site to provide advice for Eagle Scout project planning. Design, engineer and test a simple machine. Each scout will get a bag to collect materials to build a simple machine capable of launching a ping pong ball 36 inches away from the simple machine. Scouts will imagine a scientific mission to space, draw inspiration from existing spacecraft and design and build their own simple model spacecraft to accomplish the goals of their mission. After assembling a spacecraft and attaching tools, scouts will test their designs to ensure they’re ready for launch.
