The recipients of the Tennessee Valley Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution (TVCSAR), have awarded three scholarships to local Eagle Scouts. The recipients of the 2024 Arthur and Berdena King scholarships are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1st Place, Matthew Sutton, Troop 142 (Decatur), $750<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2nd Place, Benjamin Rayburn, Troop 83 (Madison), $300<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3rd Place, Hunter Ward, Troop 228 (New Market), $150<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, Matthew Sutton’s application was advanced to the State level of competition where he won Second Place, $300.\u00a0 Each applicant was scored according to their Scouting history, merit badges earned, academic success, community and leadership activities, religious and school activities, a four generation ancestor chart, and an essay on a Revolutionary America era topic.\u00a0 Congratulations to these Scouts<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Competition for this scholarship is held annually in December.
