| The Senior Center on Drake Avenue is conducting an event for our senior Veterans this year. We are partnering with Operation Gratitude to hand out care packages to them. This will be a drive through event on Saturday, November 6th. In these care packages are thank you letters from our community. Would you be able to send out a call for a service project to the area Boy Scout troops to write a “thank you for your service” letters? They are collecting letters of gratitude to put in the care packages between now and October 20. You can access instructions for the letters and coloring sheets on the Operation Gratitude website at the link below. However, instead of mailing them to the Operation Gratitude headquarters, you can drop them off or mail them to the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center located at 2200 Drake Ave, Huntsville, AL 35805. Please be sure to include the donation form with the letters. *Please note that due to the COVID-19 situation, they are limiting access to the building. To drop them off, please come by between 8am and 2pm and call the front desk to have someone meet you outside to pick-up the letters. Their number is 256-880-7080. Otherwise, please mail them in. Please encourage members to share this opportunity with anyone else who may be interested in participating!
